Why is the data speed in Manchester City center so bad STILL??? It’s been like 12 months now!? When you mark it with o2 they say they are working on the problem. But still nothing!? Once my contract is done this year I will not be renewing with this company!

@DajkWe have heard it's due to congestion of the masts. You could download the My Network app and report it through there https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

Have a look at this guide to see if there is anything you could do to improve things https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/How-can-I-sort-out-my-network-issues/ba-p/1014088

You could also make a complaint https://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

where you may be offered a goodwill gesture of compensation if you cant get a service you are paying for

Because of no network investment.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Just to much congestion for the o2 equipment to cope. I agree it's been truly awful these last 12 months and I don't ever remember it being this pitifully terrible.

All of the responses so far are all correct but in part poor 4G signal in city centres is down to the frequncies that O2 use for 4G.

At 800 meg which is what O2 use predominatley for city coverage the coverage footprint is larger(larger coverage area per mast) but unfortuantely the trade off for this is capacity, especially during heavy network lodaing periods(lunch time, end of working day and weekends).

Try all the other suggestions but keep the above in mind.
