Are there any good phone retailers?

Anonymous
Not applicable

My contract has expired and I have been looking for a new phone contract. The only retailers I could find are Carphone Warehouse (too expensive), mobiles.co.uk (bad reviews) and mobilephonesdirect.co.uk (probably would go with that one). I want to get an iPhone 6s or 7. Do you know of any better retailers with good prices?

Thank you in advance slight_smile

I've used mobilephonesdirect.co.uk in the past and they were fine but they no longer do o2 contracts.
mobiles.co.uk is the online version of CPW.

Not the case now, as far as I can tell - and they're offering Triple Data on all Contract phones (or Upgrades) on selected base data rates until early-Feb: (as far as I can tell, @MI5)

I guess they agreed a new deal sometime in the last 2 years then.
I had my first Galaxy through them on O2 in around 2010. It was 500 mins, 1000 texts and 500mb for £21.50 pm and the prices didn't go up every April back then either wink

The shenanigans with O2 open post I made in Pay Monthly is why I am looking elsewhere... And I think their 6T deal for 24months, £33.50/month with cashback (if that works...!) is better than 36months on O2 for a £34/month after o2open...

Mine wasn't a cashback deal so I can't comment, although there's no reason why you shouldn't get it and yes, it's a much better deal.

And there isn't that "grey" area of Manufacturer's 2-year warranty not covering the 3rd year of paying off the phone/device plan with O2 direct on 36months... Horrified

No way O2 will cover you for the third year. That's not grey at all - you do know that don't you?

Oh yes, definitely I do.

A bit fly of them to omit that from their "extended" purchase plans... confounded

Of course but you can always buy out your device plan so you fully own a broken phone and upgrade again tongue

True - 12 months at £14.87 per month adds up to £178.44, assuming the phone were to break on the 1st day after the 2-year warranty expiry... anguished

Yes, well, I can see a few gotchas with the new "customer friendly" phone cost calculator... Surprised
