Also depends on what type of 5G and what frequency band is being used.
Also some phone report 5G but are actually on 4G! Particularly with 5G None Stand Alone

Nothing unusual about that
5G is a complicated beast and some 5G still relies on 4G infrastructure. This is a very common system in the UK

I find same in Cambridge area should have 5G but never see it, 4G speed is pathetic maybe 5 mbits and upload >0.4 mbits most times apps don't run. Best part is if you can actually get to talk to someone , in the Philippines, they insist their network is running fine even when you can share screen shots of a failed speed test they just say its an anomaly.

To be honest a lot of networks deprioritise Speed Tests via some of the more popular Speed Test services, and as such a lot of them can be taken with a pinch of salt, I know of a few MVNO's who do this (they wont publicly admit to it, but its obvious).
The call centres have no access to what the NOC see..
There is no speed guarantee on o2, or any other network, and in some places it will be as low as 5Mbps... Best thing to do is at renewal time get some sims test and leave, but all networks have blackspots...
I have a feeling it will be NIMBY's in Cambridge blocking new infrastructure...
