Is it possible to use 500mb of data on my phone in 24 hrs??

Viewing the data usage of apps

Go to Settings, and then under Wireless & networks, tap More.
Tap Data usage.
On the Mobile tab, drag the vertical line markers to see how much data you've used during a particular time interval.
Scroll down the screen to see a list of apps and their data usage info.

Tap an app to see more details.

You would normally have to be streaming to use that amount. Are you sure it's gone in 24 hours?

What phone are you using @Anonymous? Most phones now give you details about how much data is being used and what is using it.

Also, if this is a new connection, it may be that you only got part of your data allowance...

If you have been streaming on sites such as Iplayer or YouTube over a mobile data connection then easily yes but if you have just started a new contract then you won't have your full allowance yet

I'd hazard a guess at a pro rata amount as mentioned by @Anonymous
