Well 3G on O2 is supposed to be gone by the end of this month but information from O2 seems thin on the ground since the supposed shut down in Scotland.
This morning giffgaff had the good grace to send me this
All UK mobile networks are switching off their 3G networks – and that includes us.
It looks like the device using your giffgaff SIM (mobile number ending 2861) already supports the newer 4G network, so you can carry on using it as normal. We just wanted to let you know.

Nothing from O2 as yet.
Are customers going to get a final warning or are they to be left in the dark.
Personally I don't think O2 will make it by the end of the month.
This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
