I have just come back from a holiday in Woolacombe, Devon and 02 mobile phone coverage was dreadful, only short windows of use. 2 years ago it was the same in Cornwall and the only one of my family not on 02 is my son in law who is Vodafone and he had constant use of his phone which we all used especially me when my husband was admitted to hospital. Very frustrating. Now back home and coverage fine. Do 02 just need more towers in the West Country???

Probably. I'm in Somerset myself & o2 coverage is mostly brilliant for the best part of the county. I visited Cornwall myself a couple of years ago & the o2 signal was dreadful. I had patchy 4G in areas or the signal was non existent on 2G

Hi @Anonymous did you do any network status checks whilst away? https://status.o2.co.uk/
Probably too late now.
However... for future problems and reference you could have a look through this self help guide..
(I don't live in Devon nor been there recently so can't comment on a personal basis...):smileywink:
I do visit Somerset frequently and am the only one of 8 who is able to get a good signal...so it will be interesting to compare this year...

They definitely need to upgrade their network in Devon and Cornwall, it's always been poor. The lake district is another prime example.

Hey @Anonymous thanks for posting your feedback! Sorry to hear you had poor coverage during your holiday. We'll pass on your feedback to O2.
I just googled Woolacombe as I've never been there - looks like a very beautiful place to visit!

Woolacombe is 2g only at the best of times.

2G??. I guess not many people will bother booking to go to Woolacombe then....It must be a nightmare if you live there...

Hi Marjo - many thanks for responding. It seems on a link that was below you there is no 4G service in Woolacombe? or 3G only service for 2G? And yes Woolacombe is a lovely place to go - all my grandchildren love surf boarding in the sea and playing on the 3mile beach - perfick!
