Setting up business account - nightmare

Hi. Just wondering what everyone elses experience of setting up a business account are like. 

 

We've been trying to set one up for nearly 2 weeks and no nearer completion. Also after atttempting to deal with customer services tonight we are thinking of not proceeding.

 

Initially chose options online and got email confirmation. Info with it stated we would receive a call and need business bank account ID and personal ID (credit card). Call came and we were asked to send the bank statement and then would receive further call. Did this and then when spoke to girl again explained we would like to keep a number we had, if possible. Said yes, but as it was previously a personal number would need to complete Transfer of Ownership form. Did this, but now asking for more ID - the statement we had already given and utility bill (we do not have). SO replied in email with the form explaining all of this. Now another week later get reply stating cannot proceed as we haven't sent this. Ignored fact we had already sent ID 1 and said didn't have ID 2!

 SO email states they don't deal with email queries so phone. We did, 30 mins later through to someone who after not listening and trying to tell us the number wasn't our business, said we would have to phone someone else as we dont have a business account. We explained we were trying to set it up and gave all the reference numbers we had.  SO we were transferred. When transferred to them they said we needed business team (where we had been). Next transfer (back to business team) and this guy was polite and helpful but said that as we need BusinessTOO they don't deal on phone so email!!! Tried to explain email said opposite but he couldn't help

 

Now none the wiser. Don't have what they want but cannot talk to any one about it! Meanwhile business has no phone. 

 

Ayone know what we can do. Another email to BusinessToo will take another 5 days and probably only to tell us they cannot sort again!

You could call them on the business number 8002?

They need a utility bill as proof of address. Unfortunately a passport doesn't show your address. A credit card or debit card statement should suffice as long as it shows your home address or the business address connected to your application.

Hi.

Haven't managed anything yet as do not know who to contact.

 

The number above was the one we tried and were told eventually they couldn't help, as we are only setting up account and don't have one!

 

We want to talk to someone to confirm exactly what will be accepted as proof as we do not have a Business utility bill, will a home bill count - obviously not the business address. Also as we previously submitted business Bank statement why it is being requested. If we email and get the same response in another 5 days it will be pointless.
