Hello,
I run a leasing company. As a result of one of our clients not paying their bills we got a IMEI blacklist put on the handsets. Subsequently, we have taken possession of the handsets and need to get the IMEI bar removed for the five handsets. Can someone point me in the right direction of who to contact to get this actioned.

Thank you for your response PGN.
I've tried that but unfortunately due to not having access to the SIMS or the billing details in respect of the sims (why would I, I am the leasing company who has nothing to do with the airtime!) I am not able to verify myself on the account to get the IMEI bar lifted. I am at a total loss what to do with regards to getting this bar lifted.

@madasaf1sh Any ideas?

If you have the handsets in your possession, and are the legal owner of each (ie, no insurance claim has been raised for any handset, as then the handset is the property of the insurance company), have you googled for on-line IMEI blacklist removal agencies? eg
This is just one example - @madasaf1sh may know of a more kosher method, @JimmyP1. Good luck!

We owned the airtime and the handset, so we have never been on this position.. However if you can prove ownership of the handset then you should be able to get the networks to remove the IMEI bar. And then let them take up the Airtime side of it with the customer.
This might sound daft but how do you know its o2 that has put the IMEI bar on the handset, the reason I ask is o2 can only put the bar on if they have a claim on the phones? And how did you put the IMEI bar in the first instance? Have you checked checkmend.com?
I know when we have had employees lock us out of the devices it has been an insurance claim or we have written off the devices... Not what you want to hear but might be easier..
Also I wouldnt trust these so called black list removers as it sounds like IMEI rewritting or some other dodgy scheme.
