Hi. I exhibit at country shows up and down the UK and coverage in a large field on a country estate can be patchy, to say the least! I need to be able to reliably run my credit card reader and another exhibitor told me about esim and using more than one provider, so that if there’s no coverage with one, I can try one of the others.
I need to know if I can a) use the esim system on an occasional basis without having to pay all the time for it (pay as you go I suppose); b) whether I can use the 02 esim system without otherwise being an O2 customer - ie with no other O2 contract; and c) how much it would cost please?

O2 do not support eSim for PAYG.

To use an eSim with O2 you would need a monthly contract.
I guess you could use a 30 day sim and just cancel when not needed but it would mean taking a new deal each time you wanted to start using again.
Options are on this link https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/sim-only-deals#deviceType=phone&contractLength=P30D

The alternative is to get an eSim from your current provider and use a PAYG sim from someone else that uses another network @Handyann ?

You could consider getting a sim card from WorldSim. They say it’ll connect to the strongest signal. No harm in taking a look at their website.
Their cards are pre-paid, so if you stay in credit and if you don’t use it for a few months, they will keep on working.

@Mark_Weinreb That’s interesting - not heard of that one but it sounds like it might work. Many thanks.
