My son in law has given me his old iPhone 7 but it is locked to O2, he has been given an unlocking code by O2 but how do I use the code so that I can use the phone on my Three account.

He is still on O2 with his new phone.

@Mainmarine

There are no codes for an iPhone.

Apple will unlock it on their servers.

If you’ve already requested an unlock for your iPhone but you feel it hasn’t worked, try the following:

1) Insert a non-O2 SIM in the phone

2) Connect to Wi-Fi

3) Go to Settings > General > About, and enter your Apple ID and password, and you should be good to go.

If it’s still not working, please tag @Marjo @Martin-O2 or @LukasB for help.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks

I have put a Three sim in but it just comes up with a message:

Sim not supported.

The sim card you have currently installed in this phone is from a network that is not supported under the activation policy currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone.

Please insert another sim card from a supported network provider or request this iphone be unlocked by your network provider

please contact Apple for more information.

but I can't get off the page to do anything  else, it just says try again

@Mainmarine

It's not unlocked yet then.

You need to chase it up with O2.

No

Everything I am told to do does not work, I have unlocked previous phones with no problems, it only seems to be O2 and Vodafone that don't make it easy.

Hi @Mainmarine , did you end up making any progress with this one? If you're still stuck I can get someone on our end to take a closer look at this for you. I'd need a few additional details via PM though so let me know if you need further help and I'll drop you a message.

Cheers for tagging us and for the troubleshooting above guys @Cleoriff , @MI5 thumbsup
