unlock the phone for use with a vodafone sim card

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi There,

I contacted O2 with regards to unlocking my iPhone 6 Plus for it to be used with a Vodafone Simcard.

I had been advised that a text and email will arrive in 3 days, and after that for me to insert the vodafone sim card into the iPhone and to start iTunes.

However, I haven't recieved any emails or texts regarding this, and also now my O2 sim card has been de-activated so I am not able to recieve a text message.

I would appreciate any help on this matter as I currently cannot use my phone.

Kind Regards,

Ilhan Erdogan.

Hi @Anonymous Info here on unlocking https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-and-Services/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/ba-p/1014131

However if you are having issues then you need to ring O2 customer services, borrow a phone or use a landline...https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

By the way have you tried it with another sim to see if it is actually unlocked ?

iPhones are unlocked on apple’s servers so there is no need to connect to iTunes.
Once Apple have processed the request you just insert a new sim and away you go.
It may be unlocked before you receive notification too so just hang on if not already done.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
