I have a Blackberry phone with a simm that i have a monthly contract on, how do i change that over to an iphone keeping the number?

Just call customer services on 202 and ask for a nano sim on your account, or call into any o2 shop for a free sim swap.
Also you need to ask o2 to change your data package from the BB one to iData.
