just been charged £30.12 for sending a 50 character message to 49 people on xmas day, i now know if you send over 480 characters at the same time it turns into mms at 35p a message, so be warned send your messages individually or don't go above 480 characters, and be warned iphone 5 people, it does not show how many characters you have typed on your screen so don't forget your pocket calculator when txting.

Is there not the option on the iphone 5 ios6 that is on the iphone 4s ios6 in settings> messages> Character count on /off ?
