iphone payg sim into iphone 6

I want to upgrade my phone to iphone 6. at the moment I use an iphone 5 on payg. on O2's website for iphone 6 it says payg coming soon. if I buy an unlocked phone direct from apple can I just put my SIM card in that and carry on as normal?

The iPhone 5 won't work in 4G no but it depends wether they have a 4G SIM card (it'll say 4G on it ) and if the op is in a 4G tariff.

No worries.

If you do at a later stage then a sim swap is easy to do at an O2 shop, and you'll need to enter into a 4G tariff and be in a 4G area although 3G will work fine in a 4G tariff.
