iphone 7 new sim

ive got a 5s which i own ive bought a 7 and want to keep my number so i got the new nano sim put it in the new 7 and did the sim swap code. nothing has happened all day the new phone wont let me put the pass code in and the old phone says welcome to setup?? im going crazy here

Also... if having continual problems you may be better to pop instore and they will be able to help @Anonymous Just remember to keep rebooting your phone.....

You could have just swapped sim cards as they are the same.

Not having a working sim card would not prevent entering the passcode though and nor would it wipe the old phone so something is amiss here.
