iphone 6 64GB

Hi All

I am currently on 12 months sim card deal only with O2 started about 4 months ago, recently I have contacted O2 and asking if I can upgrade free of charge to O2 referesh 24 months contarct with iphone 6 64 GB. They said yes I can.

I was wondering If I upgrade now the handset they will provide to me, Will that be unlocked?

I have heared iphone is always unlocked, and gets lock to any network when you put that network sim card inside first time.

Once they provide me iphone I want to gift it to someone who wants to use EE sim in it, Will it work please?

Please reply asap

O2 say to refuse delivery so that the phone will be returned and the contract cancelled.

Personally  I prefer to send it back registered  delivery then phone up to cancel.

So what are my options please, I am expecting a delivery of device tomorrow 22/06/2015 but they have already upgraded my airtime plan.

What do I need to do to cancel every thing and go back to my previous plan,

Or what is your advise please, what are best options for me

hi @Anonymous

When you go on your account, what status does the order have? dispatched or in progress?

Sounds like it's been dispatched already.

Then it's too late to cancel it....The tariff is always one of the first things to change but it can be reversed  easily, but if it's showing complete then It's already on it's way... just refuse delivery and in a few days it will show on your O2 as returned and your tariff changed back.

Send it back to O2 and cancel - You have 14 days to do this.

If I refuse the delivery, the handset will automatically go back to O2, once received they will cancel the contract and put me back to my old 12 months sim card deal only right.

Then will I be able to upgrade my contract to sim card deal only.

And will they charge me any delivery cost as I will refuse the delivery.

In theory, but you may prefer to take delivery of the phone and send it back yourself recorded delivery.

Personal choice would be to send it back registered and get a signature rather than rely on UK Mail.
