iphone 4s 3G signal dropping out

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm using my iPhone 4S on the O2 (UK)

I've increasingly noticed  that the iPhone 4S does not show any 3G (or edge even) connection but that When I toggle "enable 3G" in the phone's network settings it picks up a 3G connection immediately.

Anyone faced this issue?

The fact that it works ok toggling the switch would point to a problem with the simcard or the phone itself.

Try cleaning the simcard and check for problems in your area @ O2 Service Status

Then it would be a case of getting a new simcard from your local O2 store (takes up to 24Hours for transfer) and if you still have problems make an appointment at your nearest Apple store to see one of their Genius to have the phone checked out.
