i updated my phone now when I use my email I try and delete the msgs they go but when I refreashened they come back again

Who do you use for your email.
Ensure you have your settings right either as POP3 or IMAP.

Use IMAP settings and set your account to "purge from server" when deleted from phone.

There is also a Yahoo Mail app for most phones that should work automatically for you.
