iPhone SE 2020 - poorer mobile data signal

Hi, I recently upgraded from a dropped multiple times iPhone 6 to the new SE 2020. I am admittedly in a relatively poor reception area anyway, but my reception for 3G and 4G is noticeably worse than with my beat up 6, where I was imagining I would get an improvement in reception. I am often left with an E signal! (Why is that still a thing!) at a push 1 or 2 bars for 3G and even then it won’t load anything.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas? Do I just have a dodgy phone?

Thanks for your help

@Lmcp

Phone sounds dodgy.

Get Apple to check it out https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/
