iPhone 7

I've got an iPhone 7 on a one year refresh, so after a year I can trade my phone in and o2 will pay off the remainder of my contract and allow me to upgrade free of charge, when I take the phone back, does it have to be undammaged and fully functional?

Yes, in order to get full value.
If not in perfect condition a lower price will be offered and you'll have to make up the difference.

I wouldn't trust o2 when it comes to trade in for cash stuff. Try Mazuma Mobile. They offer what they quote and no less and far quicker than o2. Plus they offer the same amounts and maybe more. I know this is not going to happen yet but might be worth avoiding o2's way when the time comes. But they do pay off the remaining so I can see why you can't go elsewhere.

O2 aren't gonna pay off the device plan balance if you go elsewhere to trade in.

Thankyou I understand, I've sent the phone off on insurance once and it's going to have to go back again, it was just to make sure before I'm due to upgrade.
