I have no sound when using headphones with my new iPhone 6s

Hi @Anonymous Have a look at this advice directly from Apple https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203026

It suggests a number of fixes for headphone problems including this one...

If you can't hear any sound or if only one side of your headphones works
  1. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons on your iOS device or use the Volume slider in Control Center
  2. To see if you need a replacement, try a second pair of headphones. If the second pair works, contact the manufacturer of the initial pair and ask if you need a replacement. If the second pair doesn't work, contact Apple Support

Likely to be a faulty pair as I have the same with the iPhone 7 included earphones

Or possibly something as simple as fluff in the socket. I use a tooth pick - carefully - to get it out.

Hopefully no fluff in a brand new phone.
My money on volume control as it's independent of the normal phone volume.

That's what I'm betting too as it's the same with mine. I've ordered a 3.5mm jack to lightning cable so I can hopefully listen with my other wired headphones through that without any issues

To be honest I much prefer Bluetooth headsets. I'm not into all the technical specs having tinnitus so I get a decent sound without the worry of fluff....
