iPhone 6 Set-up

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi, upgraded to iphone 6 after being due for one. Apparently it's coming today, any advice or guidance on how I should go about setting it up? I previously had a contract on the iphone 4 and want the same number.

They said it should switch automatically, but I hear some others are having problems with accidentally registering two phone numbers simultaneously. Just wondered if you've got any steps to share to make the set up more fluid for myself (e.g complete simswap first) ....

Cheers, any response is appreciated

Make a back up to iTunes or iCloud.

Then when setting up your new iPhone don't set it up as a new device but use the back up. Use this link http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk to move your tariff and number to your new nano sim. Takes from a few minutes to approximately 24 hours to settle. Turn airplane mode on and off to help the re connection.
