The nano sim is thinner as well as smaller so it's not a case of cutting to size... we need the nano sim!

If that's the case, temporarily swapping sims into other phones to keep in touch may be dificult or impossible unless or until adaptors are available.

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

Actually, you CAN cut the micro SIM to nano SIM size. Its very easy to do.

Simply grab a pair of scissors, a template (easy to find on the interwebs), and a nail file or piece of sandpaper, and go to town on it.

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

A nano sim is not the same thickness as a micro sim so that won't work

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

O2 you have know about the nano sim for some time so why don't you already have them in the shop ready for customer with a Apple order email to pick up like the other networks?

Customer service is easy but you always seem to take the hard road why is that?

Are you trying to tell us it was a big shock to you on the Apple conference that the phone would be using a nano sim and now you are making them?? I don't think so

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

Of course it was known about, but with no-one having an iPhone 5 until next friday at the very earliest, and anyone buying an iPhone 5 on contract getting a nano-sim in the package, what would be the point in having a stockpile of nano-sims a week, two weeks, 3 months in advance?  It would be utterly pointless.

Theres a lot of people getting their knickers in a twist about something that is very simple.  The nano sim will be available to anyone who wants one on the day that anyone would have an iPhone 5.  As the meerkat says, simples!

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

Maybe you have all day to spend in a O2 shop on launch day but other people like me have work get the phones sent to us and also want to do the sim transfer before launch when O2 servers will become loaded with requests and it will take hours. Simples would be to let customer transfer the sim now use the adaptor in the current phone they have and that won't over load the server with sim transfers. It seems the other networks have thought ahead and you and O2 can't see the big picture! O2 will lose customers me being one if they don't get it sorted

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

Yeah but the point is, O2 should be distributing the nano sims prior to release. The idea of ordering from Apple is to avoid going into busy shops and wasting potential hours queuing, especially just for a sim card!

Hopefully, we will be able to pick up the nano sim cards next Wednesday/Thursday IN TIME for Friday.

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

But the whole point of pre ordering is so that you don't have to face the queues in the shop. O2 should be sending out sims for Friday. Simples.

Re: iPhone 5 Nano Sim

O2 haven't said that they are categorically not making nanosims available before friday.  All theyve said is that nano sims are being sent with any pre-ordered iphone5 and that nano sims will be available in store on the day.

People should just chill for now.  Its only a phone for goodness sake, hardly the end of the world!
