iPhone 5 4G pick up

I was down near henley-on-thames on Tuseday on my iPhone 5 late model 2013 picked up 4G its not unlocked or anything ios 9.3.1 had to screen shot & post anyone got any anwers

Yes o2 are allowed to use some of their 1800mhz allocation for 4g so it will now work in those areas

I would presume it was because you were in a 4G area as a best guess?

ok as i dont get 4G where i ive checked O2 site where i live is 4G covered, just phoned O2 5 mins ago & they said the iPhone 5 does not support 4G ?

It only supports 4g on 1800mhz so you won't get it everywhere - only in the 1800 areas as linked to the threads above.
