iPhone 4S and sending emails whilst on 3g

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have 3 email accounts set up on my phone, Virginmedia, Google mail and NHSnet.

When I am on 3G, I am able to receive all my emails but I cannot send them from the Virginmedia account. The other 2 accounts send without any difficulty.

I have no problem when it connects up to a wi-fi connection and anything in my VM Outbox gets sent immediately.

Any ideas out there?:manfrustrated:

Try this:

Go to your email settings and on the virginmedia username, make sure they match as shown here: http://mobileguide.o2.co.uk/devices/device.jsp?deviceId=449&tab=8&step=2&settingId=2636

However, for the outgoing mail server, try using O2's settings instead of virginmedia's. It should still work completely fine.

Let us know how you get on?

What smtp settings do you have set for your virgin account?

That's why they weren't sending then. Should be "virginmedia.com"
