iPhone 4 3G suddenly stopped working

Anonymous

Hey, seen this question pop up in a few forums, tried some of the solutions but no luck.

Got a Pay&Go sim, been using my iPhone 4 on 3G with no issue for 2 months until Thursday. Suddenly 3G stopped working and phone has just been displaying the little white ring since (next to full bars and O2-UK on top left).

Network coverage in area is good, other O2 phones displaying 3G next to me.

I've tried turning phone on and off, turned off phone Passcode and soft reset, turning 3G on and off, airplane mode on and off, no results as yet.

APN in Cellular Data Network is set to: payandgo.o2.co.uk – it's been on this since I put the sim in, as mentioned, 3G working fine until Thursday.

I just added more credit, in the third month of the GO20 pay & go, so after this month all my allwances supposed to double.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

I assume youve checked the service status in your area and its showing the masts are fine.

http://status.o2.co.uk/

The circle is the slower version of internet = GPRS.

Go into settings, generfal, mobile data to check the 3g toggle is turned on.

try removing the sim and giving it a wipe.

Then if no joy pop into an 02 high-street store and pick up a blank sim card and perform the sim swap in store or at home.

it will take from 2 hours to 24 hours to fully re activate.

If no help then book an appointment at your apple Store for the Genius Bar.
