iPhone 4 - 3G internet not working

Hello, 

I've just bought my son an iPhone 4, everything's working fine except the internet. It works when it's on wi-fi but as soon as you turn the wi-fi off everything internet stops working. 

I've checked the settings and they're as they should be but it's still not working, any ideas?

What tariff and what apn's are in the settings?

If he has an iphone data bolt on the APNs should be idata.o2.co.uk

If a standard data bolt on change the APNs to mobile.o2.co.uk.

Ensure  cellular data/mobile data is switched.

Reboot the phone and try it again with wifi off.

Try turning 3G on & off
