Have you followed apples advice to do a full cycle of discharge and then full charge?

Hi,

Also it will reduce in operating time with time.

Apple do offer a battery replacement service if i remember correctly.

If you took out Apple Care then the battery is covered.

Check that notifications are set the same. If apps update then sync intervals could be altered. Have you noticed any extra data usage than you would expect?

Im wondering what iOS the OP is on as the newest versions do push the 3GS to its upper limit.

If they have say updated from iOS5 to iOS6 even though it does not support all of its features, then this can have an effect on battery I believe.
