So I upgraded my phone yesterday and swapped the sims over with no problem. Set the phone up fine. I can call people, and people can call me. But in the settings my imessage and facetime are saying they're 'waiting for activation' and I'm also unable to send or receive sms text messages from anyone.

Has anoyone had this before?

The transfer hasn't completed yet

You need to keep rebooting the phone

Also go to

settings / phone / my number

Make sure you have the correct number there

I've checked the my number in the settings and it's correct.

Yeah, I've been rebooting the phone but no luck as of yet. Looks like I'll just have to be patient with the message situation, despite the frustration of it.

I have exactly the same problem with my iPhone 11 which I received as an upgrade 5th May. Total nightmare. I can't receive or send text messages & can't set up important apps as I can't receive verification codes which they try to send via text messages. I've rebooted & rebooted & done three factory resets & setting up from scratch. I've googled the problem & looked on the O2 website, but no answers to be found. I've also checked for & installed the latest update. Clearly it must be a settings issue with o2. I've tried calling o2 but understandably it's very hard to get through to them during the current crisis. If anyone has a fix for this it would be much appreciated.

Some people on a different thread https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android/Can-t-receive-text-messages-on-Galaxy-S20/m-p/1344182/highligh... are reporting their text system is working again. I expect it will be happening over the course of today to everyone... dependent on area.

@Chris_Kcan you confirm?
