iOS 8 / iPhone 6 email tone bug

Anonymous

Hi all!

This is quite a difficult problem to describe. When I get an email my phone seems to play the notification sound twice on top of each other with a fraction of a second delay between them.
It's like having two phones go off at the same time.

I did a bit of a google and Macrumers forum has report the same issue
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1786228

But no fix so far! Any thoughts anyone?

Hi

Yes it seems to be a bug.

My iPhone 6 plus does this occasionally too.

Maybe iOS 8.1 will help.

Time will tell.

They seem to suggest it's another bug in that thread you've linked to so I guess there is not much that the user can do?
I assume you've tried a soft reset on the handset?

Yes I have, but to no avail.

Oh well, may just have to wait for apple to fix it.

It'll be interesting to see what bugs are ironed out in the 8.1 release.

I must say, this software so far has fell well short of what I'd expect from apple. It's built for use on what, 5-10 device configurations? Normally it's the best part of an iPhone but this time seems very poor.

Seems like it should have been better tested rather than rushed out - Very disappointing for many users 😞

The only part of all this that disappointed me was 8.0.1 which for some users turned off Network Connection and affected WiFi.

Apart from some low level bugs in 8.0.2 I've not been disappointed.

I do agree for a big company with all their resources they have to do better. It's not a new thing for bugs to exist in iOS, Android or Windows Firmwares etc.

What matters is these bugs being reported back and dealt with.

So annoying though for new bugs...on a brand new phone...

It wholly depends on what the bugs are.

A double tone ring is not annoying to me ,but may be for another.

It's down to the end user to early adopt or hold off until bug reports are submitted and discussed on blogs / forums.

And it gives avenue for debate. slight_smile
