I'll say one good thing about Apple, the update is available to all customers at the same time without having to wait for it being released in batches. That's if their servers don't go into meltdown by the multitude of people trying to download at the appointed time on the appointed date.

The other thing they were on the ball about was announcing their devices were affected by Spectre and Meltdown before anyone else. Of course the news carried the story that it was an 'Apple bug', whereas in fact it could potentially affect any device using that particular Intel chip...

Not quite, given that iOS 11.2 already had the Spectre fix. But how many Android devices are going to get either fix? At least every iOS device from the 5s upwards can upgrade today?
