rebooted the iPhone?
checked you have signal?
checked there isnt am issue with sky mail on skys website?
checked the settings on the iPhone are correct for you account?
checked to see if a friend or family member is having a similar issue with their sky account?

There are no Sky issues and my mail is working fine both on my iphone 4 and Samsung S3.

Sounds as though you have a problem with the imap settings on your phone. Try deleting and setting the account up again.
