cant send /reci emails out and about

I cant seem to send/rec e,mails out of the house i have been using my iphone for 2 years without this problem,the message says something about not having a cellular service,will it have anything to do with my sons new ipad?

Do you have data roaming switched on when out and about? I suspect you are connecting to the Wifi at home.

My bad, I meant to write data network 3g etc.

Data roaming has no effect in the uk it is only abroad that has any effect.

 

what ISP are you using and what settings have you got in your server settings?
