buying a second phone

 will o2 give me deal on an iphone 5 for my son[ who is currently with orange who arebeyond hopeless ] seen as ive been aloyal customer and still am with them for lots of years , in other words i would have two contracts on the go ?

You could take another contract on your account but not at any special deal. All offers are open to new and existing customers under their fair deal for all policy.

Apart from when pay as you go get more data on O2 travel,cheaper call costs etc then the fair deal for all goes out the window

I'm just glad that the tariff I have is good for me. If I went over my allowance it would annoy the hell out of me. The people at O2 should seriously look at the differences and justify penalising customers who tie into a contract and guarantee O2 a fixed source of income.
