i brought an i phone 3 and its only emercency calls only, no signal and a padlock at top of page, why is this? was it a contract or stolen? i have tried my own sim in it and still no joy, please help, thanks the imei number is (edited personal details)   the icccid is(edited personal details) if this is of any help to us.

You will need to get the seller to contact their original provider to see if the phone is locked. it is possible that the imei is barred due to the phone being stolen also. Please also remove your personal details such as imei and ssn from your post...

You can check the imei at www.checkmend.com/uk It may just possible be locked to another network.

Hopefully not another horror story of a mobile purchased from flea bay !

If you know what network it was originally on then try that networks sim.

If after trying the known networks sim the phone was locked to, and you still have the no service message then its blocked.
