bizzare text message experience

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have an iphone.  In this instance so did the person I was communicating with. We were texting in SMS.  I had texted with him yesterday.  He had deleted the initial thread from his phone though I hadn't.  So when we picked up the contact later in the day he was starting a new one.  Of course my thread was continuous. Anyway, the last text I subsequently sent to him arrived incomplete.  But more than that it came to him as an extension to one of the texts sent previously ie within that earlier text's own green 'bubble'.

Has anyone out there ever had a similar experience?

Yes, it can happen if the server didn't get the correct delivered response it would try and send the text again.
If you find it to be a persistent problem I'd suggest you call into your local o2 store and get a sim swap, but if just a one off, I wouldn't worry about it.
