If you bought it from an O2 shop then should work. Did you need a new sim? You may need a sim swap. You could call customer service from a landline as we are all customers like you here & have no access to your account.

The phone should update in your MyO2 after 24 hours.
If it doesn’t, you need to cal customer service http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

As @MI5 says @Unhappy64 it takes time some times a prompt to customer services resolves it
