Upgrade issues with new sim

Ive upgraded from a 6 to an XR and inserted the new sim. I've lost 4G despite it being enabled. My texts come up as a weird Icloud address which isnt mine. I logged onto myo2 and my old phone is there, not my new phone. Can anyone help?

First check your correct number is showing in Settings >Phone >My Number.

Then check in iMessage that your number is listed in "start new messages from" field.

It's been a while since you asked your question about the texting issue you were having with your iPhone XR so hopefully the above information from @MI5 was helpful in sorting everything out.
