Unlocking old phone

Hi,

I have an ex-business contract phone, for which I no longer have the sim as I am using it in a newer device. I would like to unlock the old phone but am unsure of the best way to do this without a sim card. I have the new sim for it for a different network but obviously it wont recognise this until it is unlocked.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I have tried filling in the manual form but am a little worried when it asks for my phone number. I am now using the number I originally used in the phone I want unlocked in a newer 6s, so don't want it affecting that at all. Do we know if it's asking for the number simply for contact details or is it for unlocking purposes?

It is the IMEI number that determines which phone gets unlocked.
The phone number is used to confirm usage on the network and for contact purposes.

If I were you @Garrett4cd I would ring customer services and chase them up. Normally takes 24-48 hrs to unlock a phone. One of our members here got his done within the hour innocent

You won’t hear anything until you receive the email to say it’s been done. Apple usually do it immediately but Android takes longer as o2 have to ask the manufacturer to generate the code.
