Unlocking mu iPhone

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have asked for my old iPhone to be unlocked, so I can sell on. It says I need to put a non 02 sim in it to complete the process. Obviously I don't want to use it on another network.  Should I just reset it now and sell on as unlocked? It doesn't say what to do if you aren't keeping it yourself.

you would need to pay off your device plan or wait until the end of your contract to get it unlocked

O2 request the unlock via Apple's servers and usually only takes 72 hours. They may have quoted up to 28 days previously but if you have filled in the form or requested the unlock via My O2 then you will get it unlocked much sooner than the timescales you quote. I'm not too sure if they are unlocking the 6s yet unless it's paid off in full.

From the website....

Just checked and they are unlocking the 6 plus now so no need to pay off in full.

So you should be able to do this using this http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/unlocking-your-iphone-and-using-it-on-another-netwo...

If you request this in the morning via MyO2, it should be unlocked by the evening. Or the next morning, if you request it from late afternoon. Can't vouch for the timing over the weekend/bank holiday though

72 hours for iPhones and usually around 4-7 days for others, although has been known to be quicker.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
