Unlocking a iphone

I have been given an iphone from a family member who's partner has passed away, how can i get their phone unlocked.?

It needs to be unlocked by the network it is locked to. If locked to O2 then follow this guide

Do you know which network it's locked to?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
OnePlus 6 (O2 & Sfr), Z3 Tablet (Three UK), iPhone7 (EE)
