O2 have unlocked my iphone for me as I want to give it to my daughter to use - however I have been told that I need to log in to Itunes to confirm unlock using a non o2 sim - my daugter has an O2 pay as you go sim - so I cannot do it - any ideas of how I get round this?

If she is only going to be using an o2 sim, then it doesn't matter.
If she is using a sim from another company then it does need to be unlocked.
However I believe that the using itunes is no longer applicable - @MI5 can you confirm (as I don't have an iPhone or history with them)?
Edited to add - late to the party as usual...

However you may need to delete you the phone from your id or your daughter could be seeing your texts etc.
