Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice if possible please...
I have aquired an iPhone 7 locked to o2 (I have an o2 account, but the phone isnt associated with it). I'm trying to unlock it to use my work sim in it on a work trip abroad, for which i leave at 3am tomorrow morning.
My issue is as follows, I submitted an unlock request yesterday morning and I have recieved a response saying as the phone hasnt been used on my account it cant be unlocked and I must use the sim in it for at least 24 hours first, time which I now dont have before departure. If the form had told me this at the time, I'd have put my sim in it right away and would have about 30 hours of use now on my account.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could speed this process up given my predicament? My o2 sim has now been in the phone for about 2 hours.
Thanks
Gerard

Put your sim in and make a couple of calls, send a couple of texts. The system will recognise the sim after 24 hours. The sim doesn't need to be in for 24 hours so the unlock should go through OK even if the sim has only been in the phone an hour or so.

Thanks for the response, I've tried twice now and live chat are consistently telling me it cant be done until I've had the sim in it for at least 24 hours. I've resubmitted the manual form again today now the sim is actually in the phone, I'm just not confident it will be picked up before I leave the country. Time to source another phone just in case!

Live chat will tell you it's Tuesday today! Forget what they say..the system will pick it up as soon as the IMEI changes in My O2.

Thank you both for your help, if someone does have the means to get them done in 10 mins, or at least fast track it to some extent it would be greatly appreciated!
