Thinking about iPhone 5

Anonymous

Hi everyone just need some advice.

I currently have a blackberry on monthly contract which is up for renewal in July, however I want to upgrade to an iPhone 5 which I can do by paying off the rest of my contract (which will cost me £100).

I just wanted to know if people think it is worth going for the iPhone as I don't know alot about them

And I want to know which tariff is best to go for? And how much gb of data would people recommend ?

I also want to know if I'm able to keep my current number?

I appreciate any help thanks.

Hi and welcome
I have an iPhone 5 and love it but everyone is different one thing to consider is when O2 launch 4g soon hopefully the iPhone 5 will not support it in terms of data I would say you need 500mb minimum depending on what you want to do with it tariffs are pretty much down to how many minutes etc you need and how much you can afford if I were to give you my honest opinion I would say wait until July as there are rumours of a new iPhone coming out around then
And yes you would be able to keep your number

Thanks for your help

I can't wait til July, I'm so impatient ha! Plus the iPhone will really help me out with work.

I was going to go for the £42 a month tariff - phone cost is £30 and with that I would get unlimited mins & texts + 2gb of data - surely I wouldn't use that much data in a month? (Mainly use for playing games and Facebook/twitter more than likely)

I'm also wondering if its worth paying for the insurance £12.50 a month?

Thanx for the advice. Sorry about all the Q's - I'm a iPhone dummy! slight_smile

That's what we are here for that tariff sounds good I think you would struggle to use 2gb of data doing twitter fb and playing games so sounds ideal for your needs I don't think you will regret it it is a great phone I personally would look elsewhere for the insurance but that's really up to you I think £12.50 a month is a bit steep I get it with my bank account with other benefits for £8 a month

Ok thanks for the advice, I just want it in my hands now ha!

Just one more question do you know if I have to order it over the Internet or phone O2 with me already having and wanting to cancel a contract? And with me wanting to keep the same number?

You would have to order it over the phone and ask O2 for a fast track upgrade they will then take your money cancel your existing contract and transfer your number to the new nano sim ready for your iphone 5

Whatever you do, think twice before buying an iphone 5 from o2 as they will not unlock it for you if you need even though it has been six months from it's release and everyone else is unlocking it for their customers.
