The average iphone user is older than you think

Moconews.net are reporting that of the 6.4M active iphones in the US.....

5% are owned by 13-17 year olds
13% are owned by 18-24 year olds
29% are owned by 25-34 year olds
36% are owned by 35-54 year olds
17% are owned by people 55 years or older

I am not surprised by the fact that the largest age group for iPhone ownership is between 35 and 54, iPhone is not a low cost phone so to me that makes sense. However what I am surprised about is that more people who are 55 years or older own iPhones than 18-34 year olds.

Also 40% of US At&t iphone users live in a home with an income of over ,000 per year.

Heh, I'm in the 29% zone, which makes me feel quite old looking at it like that!

Sadly, I can't say I join the AT&T's 40% of customers who bring in a hundred thousand a year though!

It could and after recently adding MobleMe I have to say that in lots of ways its better than my Blackberry. However the issue you have with business users is that in my limited experience. Companies seam to buy either basic Nokia's or Blackberry. The market that Apple need to get is the Blackberry market and thats going to be a tuff nut to crack.
