Special iPhone SIMs?

Hi, I just started a SIM only contract and would like to use the SIM in an original iPhone SE I've inherited from a family member. I tried inserting the SIM but received the message that the phone is locked to another provider. However, looking at the phone settings for Network Provider it says "O2 49.0" which would imply that it is locked to O2. When I ordered the SIM I was prompted whether it was for an iPhone and I said No without thinking. Are there special iPhone SIMs? Thanks

Yes, as the phone will still use the data it has stored for the sim card inserted even if you can't use it.

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Nope no special sim cards.

The SE will automatically brought down the carrier settings as soon as the sim card was installed, so it will be locked still to the original provider,

I would find out who and ask the family member to get it unlocked.

Ah, so what it is showing is the provider of the most recent SIM inserted (i.e. mine) rather than the original network? Thanks
