I did read about the trade in programme and resigned myself to thinking it'll be just for owners in America.

A service which offers you way under market value for your device, convenient and easy however so lot's will use it!

The only benefit I see is you don't have to put up your phone for resale (unless you have a family member to pass it on to) or throw it in a drawer to join countless others as a backup.

Yep it's for people who just can't be bothered witht he hassle of ebay, gumtree etc and willing to take a hit on the price the get for it.
