I have an iphone 12 pro. I have been going round and round and round o2 'help' and no guidance is available. How do I transfer the number on my sim to my phone's eSim so I can use a second number on a new physical sim.

Please don't give me a link to the help section of o2 website as there is nothing there.

@Rjones

As we can't refer you to the help section or O2, I can refer you to one of our account advisors. Unfortunately they aren't on now until Monday at 9am. @O2Daniel are you able to help @Rjones?

Just to add, there may be someone who knows more than me about e-sims and iPhones as I use neither. If so they will add their advice to this thread.

@Rjones

You need to call O2 to get an eSim pack.

Once you have the pack, you just do a sim swap to activate the eSim.

Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

You'll need to call customer service.
Numbers here Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When it comes to the reason you are calling stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say "Upgrade", "Lost/Stolen" or "Fraud" if you have to, to get put through to someone.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@Rjones

You need to do a sim swap to your esim.
First you need to order an esim pack from o2 customer services on 202

Then follow the instructions on the sim packaging.

Then once that is complete then put your new sim in the sim slot
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Thanks for the tag @Cleoriff@Rjones if you wish to use an Esim, you would need to order an Esim pack from ourselves. You will receive this, and you can either scan a QR code, or enter the digits within the pack you receive and this will activate. Please let me know if you would like one sending, by either private messaging me, or tagging me in a reply on this thread, and i can discuss your personal details through private message and get this sorted for you slight_smile

How about Apple's instructions for converting a SIM to an eSIM?  I've not tried them but they look comprehensive. See  https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT210655

Following up on my own reply above, it doesn't look like O2 supports the "Convert to eSIM" process outlined by Apple. The button to trigger the process doesn't appear on my (iOS 15.1) iPhone 11 Pro, so I guess it is necessary to contact O2 to get an eSIM pack.

Hi there @O2Daniel  ive Just signed up for o2. Can I get an esim pack straight away or need to wait to receive physical sim and then ask for swap? And how long does this typically take?
