@Stressedmumma You'll need to put a friend's O2 sim in the phone or get an O2 Pay & Go sim to unlock it: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/ba-p/1...

hi, the easiest and quickest way to unlock your iphone, is to contact the original owner and have them call o2, they will need the "IMEI" of the iphone to do this, if the original owner asks you for the IMEI, follow the support page from apple below to get your iphones IMEI, hopefully this helps you with your question, I have also added our support page for any extra information you need.
how to find the IMEI: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204073
more info from our O2 support page: https://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/unlocking-an-o2-mobile-to-use-on-a-different-netwo...
thanks
