keep getting this message when sending texts. Also people sending me texts are getting same message. problem is intermitent.

 

any help please?

Known issue which has been on/off for a while now.
No fix that you can implement yourself unfortunately.

Have just bought a brand new sealed iPhone 7 locked to o2. I have an o2 sim-only tariff. I transferred the sim card from my old (o2) iPhone and set the phone up as per Apple's instructions.

 

The only issue is that whenever I power the phone off and on again, I receive a text message with "...**STATUS** Permanently Failed. Message to +44 (number) sent at (date/time)...".

 

Other than that, the phone works fine - but how can I get the **STATUS** message issue resolved...?

The iPhone sends a silent text message to Apple's servers to activate facetime and imessage each time the phone is started. If this is failing it may well be the cause of the message.
